About us

Moorlands DAB Ltd was established in August 2021, following the advertisement of round 2 of the Ofcom licencing process for small scale DAB, which included the Congleton and Leek area.

Our directors wanted to bring low cost DAB to the area so that existing and new broadcasters could use the latest technology to provide services to our area and provide a wider range of radio services.

Three local radio specialists joined forces with Moorlands Radio, the local community radio station to form Moorlands DAB Ltd – a not for profit company with the aim of supporting local community broadcasting in the future.

We bid for the multiplex in September 2021 and were awarded the opportunity to establish the multiplex in May 2022, work started immediately on sourcing our specialist transmission equipment and securing a suitable transmission site to cover our area.
